Content

Practical classes address the fundamental concepts of comparative literature and literary theory through their practical application and work with literary and theoretical texts. Students get to know the works of leading Slovene and international experts in comparative literature (Van Tieghem, Wellek, Chevrel, Remak, Ocvirk, Kos) and literary theorists (Aristotel, Barthes, Derrida, Ingarden, Jauss, Greenblatt, Fludernik, etc.). By working with texts students are acquainted with the general concepts of literary ontology, phenomenology, morphology, literary assessment, stylistics, rhetoric, cognitivism, narratology and the theory of genres and subgenres.
