The emphasis is on getting to know various musical instruments, their characteristics, playing methods and combining cultural-dependent and other types of bands.
The knowledge is concretised in one type of band which prepares an actual programme for a public performance at the end of the academic year. Each year a different programme is studied and performed.
20 of practice hours are dedicated to the field work. Students get to know practices of ethnomusicological field work comprising: audio and/or video recording of a performance of selected vocal and/or instrumental folk tune, a transcription and a preparation of material for performance with ethno music group.
