izr. prof. dr. Vladimir Drekalović: Significance of EIA (enhanced indispensability argument) for modern mathematical Platonism
The idea of Platonism has a long history and a significant number of supporters in philosophy. The arguments of these supporters were rarely given in the explicit form. More often they relied on various metaphysical considerations. In the last two decades, we can follow the emergence of an explicit argument, the enhanced indispensability argument, which was conceived as a support for a kind of Platonism – mathematical Platonism. It seems, however, that this support is an original and boldly conceived tool, but not a useful and usable tool for the defence of Platonism.
