Slovene text comprehension and formation

Themes discussed: Spoken and written text; text in modern electronic media. Text characteristics considering the media and text type. Communicational norms and text formation. Discursive universe as the formulator of language meaning and of language and communicational norms. Processes of reading and attribution of text meaning in an active reader’s interaction with the text. Reading strategies and their use for the reader’s control of own creation of text meaning.

Students are introduced to an independent formation of different (professional) texts, from (a) choosing the topic, the materials and relevant literature, to (b) research and (c) text formation and its spoken presentation with an oriented discussion.
