TUTORIAL
The course builds on the bachelor's degree knowledge, comprehension, written and oral use of the language in various communicative situations. Through texts students learn about social language varieties, but also learn about the realities.
Reading and analysis of technical texts and making study notes (persuasive and research composition, use of resources).
Understanding and summarizing professional texts (professional discussion, lecture, presentation, statement ...).
Oral presentations of a selected topic (semantic fields).
Discussion about the given topics (idioms, phrases). Reported speech, narrative methods and techniques, management of different registers.
The difference in the use of foreign words in Czech and Slovenian.
Translation of genre texts.
Versatile analysis of the source text, which encourages sensitivity to the genre, awareness of the importance of the type of text, as well as translation requirements of the client. In-depth analysis of those text elements that are most inherent in the source language and may be problematic when transmitted to the target language. Comparing the different translation solutions and discussions about the individual choices, justifying and defending them.
