The course develops the understanding and interpretation of Chinese society and culture through various linguistic and audio-visual content. It involves the analysis and interpretation of professional and newspaper articles, literary works, documentaries, art and experimental films, music, painting, and other areas through which individual aspects of traditional and modern Chinese society and culture are conveyed. The content of the course is adapted to current social, cultural and political events in China. Certain topics will be covered through a comparative analysis of the subject as conveyed through various media.
Most of the media content used is in Chinese and occasionally in English.
